15 ATHLETES SELECTED FOR U17 WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM TRAINING CAMP

TORONTO, ONT. (June 28, 2018) - Canada Basketball is pleased to announce the 15 athletes invited to the U17 women's national team training camp at Humber College - North Campus (Toronto, ON) from June 29-July 12.

Head Coach Jodi Gram (Bill Crothers Secondary) will be joined by assistants Dani Sinclair (University of Victoria) and Albena Branzova-Dimitrova (UQAM).

"Heading to a World Cup is always exciting but this group of staff and athletes only adds to that excitement,” said Gram.  “We have threats at every position in different ways, and a group that has shown commitment to investing in themselves away from camp to ultimately make the team better.  Working with this age group and traveling internationally always proves to be an amazing growth opportunity.”

Following the end of the invitational tryouts and training period, the team will depart for Europe on July 12 and will begin exhibition games against Latvia, China, and USA in Liepaja, Latvia between July 14-16.

The team will then travel to Minsk, Belarus to begin their quest for a gold medal in the FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2018
