2017 Fiba U19 Men's World Cup Draw Finalized

TORONTO, ON (February 11, 2017) FIBA announced the results of the 2017 U19 Men's World Cup draw today in Cairo, Egypt. Team Canada was placed in Group C and will play Japan, Spain, and Mali during the group stage. The tournament will run from July 1 - July 9 in Cairo, Egypt.

The World Cup competition will begin in group phase where Canada will compete against all teams in its group, followed by the Round of 16 where they will cross over to compete against a team in Group D. The winners of the Round of 16 games advance to the Quarter-Finals, while the losers move on to the Classification Games for Places 9-16.

The Canadian squad qualified for the World Cup with a silver medal finish at the 2016 U18 FIBA Americas Championship in Valdivia, Chile. Canada's youth men's program is currently ranked 3rd in the world.
