Canada Defeats China 71-53 In U19 Women's Exhibition

VOIRON, FRANCE (July 17, 2017) - The U19 Women's National Team defeated China, 71-53, in exhibition play. The win ends Canada's three-game exhibition series on a high note before the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2017, to be held July 22-30 in Udine and Cividale del Friuli, Italy.

Aislinn Konig (Langley, BC) led the way with 17 points and 8 rebounds while Alyssa Jerome (Toronto, ON) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Hailey Brown (Hamilton, ON) chipped in with 11 points in the victory. Click here for the box score.

The teams were tied 10-10 midway through the first quarter before Canada started to pull away. It was a lead they would maintain the rest of the game, leading by 8 at halftime before pulling away in the second half en route to an 18-point win.
