The Senior Men’s National Team (SMNT) has announced that all 17 players attending training camp will form the player pool eligible to suit-up for Team Canada in the Jack Donohue International Classic (JDIC) versus Team Jamaica. The two-game exhibition series will be played at the Mattamy Athletic Centre on August 8 and 10.

“These two games will be an excellent opportunity for both teams,” said Rowan Barrett, assistant general manager and executive vice-president of Canada Basketball’s Senior Men’s Program. “Meaningful competitive action will serve as a good evaluation tool in determining team chemistry as we look toward the competitive season.”

Team Jamaica has assembled a squad blending youthful energy and veteran leadership. The members of the team representing the Caribbean nation have gained invaluable experience and honed their skills through international and domestic competition. They will provide the Canadian side with a stiff test as the two teams prepare to match-up once again in the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship for Men from August 30 to September 11.

The 2013 edition of the JDIC has been made possible through the generous support of the event’s partners and sponsors. Canada Basketball would like to acknowledge and thank McSweeney’s, Popchips, Maple Lodge Farms, Mr. Sub and JVC Kenwood for their part in bringing together Team Canada and Team Jamaica for this event. Tickets to the two games are still available and can be purchased through ticketmaster.ca.
