La direction de la haute performance masculine de  Canada Basketball a le plaisir d'annoncer les noms des 12 athlètes, des entraîneurs et du personnel qui représenteront le Canada au championnat mondial U19 de la FIBA à Héraklion en Grèce.

"C'est un honneur d'amener ce groupe de jeunes hommes, d'entraîneurs et de personnel de soutien en Grèce pour le championnat mondial. L'implication et le caractère de ce groupe a été impressionnant" aux dires de Roy Hana, entraîneur-chef de l'équipe nationale masculine U19 2015 (ÉNMJ). "Nous visons à représenter notre pays passionnément et à développer la prochaine vague de talents canadiens qui représentera notre équipe masculine dans l'avenir."

Roy Rana (Université Ryerson) est à la tête de l'ÉNMJ pour une quatrième saison consécutive. Il sera accompagné des adjoints Jamie McNeilly (Virginia Tech), Kirby Schepp (Université du Manitoba) et Scott Morrison (Red Claws du Maine). De plus, Steve Kochalski (Université St. Francis Xavier) agira à titre de mentor du groupe d'entraîneurs.

Cinq athlètes de l'édition 2014 qui avait terminé au 2e rang du championnat de la FIBA Americas à Colorado Springs - le meilleur résultat d'une équipe de groupe d'âge masculin - sont de retour. Il s'agit de Dillon Brooks (Université de l'Oregon), Christopher Egi (Université Harvard), Corey Johnson (Northern Kings), Nevell Provo (É.S. Pine Ridge) et Drew Urquhart (Université du Vermont).

Le Canada est présentement troisième au classement mondial de la FIBA pour les groupes d'âge.

L'équipe d'envolera pour l'Europe afin d'y compléter sa préparation et jouer quelques matchs hors-concours avant le championnat mondial. La liste complète des joueurs, du personnel ainsi que le calendrier de compétition apparait ci-dessous.
