56 ATHLÈTES INVITÉES AU CAMP D’ÉVALUATION DE MARS 2017

TORONTO, ON (Le 8 février 2017) – Cinquante-sept athlètes canadiennes ont été invitées à participer au camp national d’évaluation des filles de groupes d’âges qui aura lieu au Collège Humber et l’Université de Toronto du 24 au 30 mars 2017.

Selon Denise Dignard, directrice de la haute performance féminine, « Nous recherchons à regrouper à notre camp ce groupe de nouvelles et d’actuelles athlètes afin de les voir rivaliser et leur donner des conseils quant à leurs plans personnels de performance.

Alors que nous débutons une nouvelle période quadriennale, l’évaluation et le développement continu de nos athlètes à tous les niveaux sont les clefs de la progression du Canada à l’échelle internationale. »

L’objectif de ce camp est de fournir un environnement d’entraînement national avec concentration auprès des meilleures athlètes identifiées dans divers groupes d’âges parmi celles nées en1998 et plus tard. Ce processus aidera à identifier les athlètes qui seront invitées aux programmes des équipes nationales U16 et U19

Les filles canadiennes des groupes d’âge sont classées au 4e rang mondial de la Fédération internationale de basketball (FIBA).

L’équipe U16 canadienne se rendra en Argentine pour le championnat féminin U16 de la FIBA Amériques en juin prochain. Quant aux filles U19, elles rivaliseront au championnat mondial 2017 de la FIBA qui se déroulera à Udine et Cividale del Friuli en Italie au mois de juillet.
