TORONTO, Ont. (le 26 juin 2023) - Jahvon Blair et Katherine Plouffe ont été nommés Joueurs Toyota Canada de la semaine du 19 au 25 juin.

Blair a brillé cette semaine pour les River Lions de Niagara (LECB). Le joueur originaire de Brampton en Ontario a inscrit 22 et 16 points dans ses deux matchs avec les River Lions, qui affichent 5 victoires et 5 défaites dans la conférence est de la ligue. Blair a inscrit 16 points à 6 en 9 aux tirs, dont 4 en 4 à trois points, dans la victoire de Niagara contre le Surge de Calgary vendredi, avant de marquer 22 points et six rebonds samedi contre les BlackJacks d’Ottawa. Blair a été un joueur clé du Canada dans la route vers la qualification à la Coupe du monde masculine de basketball FIBA 2023, et il a notamment fait partie de l’équipe pendant la fenêtre 5 à Edmonton, où l’équipe s’est officiellement qualifiée pour la Coupe du monde, qui débutera en août.

Katherine Plouffe a mené l’équipe nationale féminine de 3x3 du Canada pour son premier tournoi des séries féminines FIBA 3x3 de la saison, qui a eu lieu à Orléans en France. Plouffe a inscrit 10 points et 11 rebonds dans la victoire de l’équipe en quart de finale contre Sc. Yuanda, avant d’enregistrer 10 points et 5 rebonds dans une défaite en demi-finale face à l’Espagne. Aux côtés de sa sœur Michelle, de Paige Crozon et de Kacie Bosch, Katherine a représenté le Canada à la Coupe du monde féminine de basketball FIBA 3x3, qui a eu lieu à Vienne en Autriche un peu plus tôt ce printemps. Plouffe sera de retour sur le terrain mardi alors qu’elle et le reste d’Équipe Canada commenceront leur deuxième tournoi de la saison des séries féminines à Poitiers en France.
