TORONTO, ON (6 août 2017) – La corporation des Jeux du Commonwealth 2018 de la Côté d’Or (acronyme anglophone : GOLDOC), en collaboration avec la Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) et la Fédération des Jeux du Commonwealth (acronyme anglophone : CGF), ont annoncé dimanche que le Canada évoluera dans le Groupe A lors des Jeux du Commonwealth de la Côte d’Or (acronyme anglophone : GC2018) l’an prochain.

Les seize nations représentées à l’occasion des compétitions masculines et féminines ont été divisées en deux groupes de quatre qui s’affronteront lors des rondes préliminaires qui seront disputées à Townsville et à Cairns du 5 au10 avril 2018. Les finales auront quant à elles lieu au Centre des congrès et des expositions de la Côte d’Or du 13 au 15 avril 2018.

Les compétitions de Basketball des GC2018 mettront aux prises les huit équipes suivantes chez les hommes et chez les femmes :

Équipe Canada fera ses débuts aux compétitions de Basketball des Jeux du Commonwealth en 2018, les hommes et les femmes n’ayant pas pris part à celles présentées lors des Jeux de Melbourne en 2006.
