TORONTO, Ont. (le 9 juillet 2024) - Jordan Charles et Michelle Plouffe ont été nommés joueurs Toyota Canada de la semaine du 8 au 12 juillet.

L’équipe nationale masculine des moins de 17 ans du Canada a fini 8ème de la Coupe du monde masculine de basketball de la FIBA U17 la semaine dernière, soit mieux que leur 9ème place acquise en 2022. Jordan Charles a été un joueur au-dessus du lot pour le Canada tout au long de la semaine, et a fini meilleur pointeur de l’équipe avec une moyenne de 15,9 points par match. Charles a aussi fini deuxième en nombre de passes décisives par match avec une moyenne de 3,4 passes. Il a réalisé sa meilleure performance lors du match de classement contre la Lituanie avec un total de 32 points, cinq passes décisives et trois rebonds.

Les séries féminines FIBA 3x3 ont continué cette semaine à domicile. L’équipe nationale féminine de 3x3 du Canada a rassemblé son équipe olympique qui vient d’être annoncée à Edmonton pour remporter l’étape des séries à domicile. Michelle Plouffe, Katherine Plouffe, Paige Crozon, et Kacie Bosch étaient réunies pour remporter cette victoire écrasante. Michelle Plouffe a fini meilleure pointeuse avec un total de sept points par match en cinq rencontres. Michelle Plouffe a marqué 14 points en finale face à Dallas, scellant la victoire pour le Canada.
