TORONTO (March 12, 2025) - Canada Basketball is pleased to announce that 26 athletes from across the country have been invited to participate in the U16 Women's National Team Assessment Camp at Humber College from March 21-23, 2025.

“As we begin our preparations for the 2025 FIBA U16 Women's AmeriCup, this camp provides a valuable opportunity for our athletes and coaches to come together and build on our foundation as a program,” said Steve Baur, Interim Head of Women’s High Performance. “Our National Team Age-Group Assessment Camps have been instrumental in identifying and developing top talent, and we are excited to see how these athletes continue to grow within our system.”

The camp will offer a high-performance training environment with an international focus, targeting top identified athletes born in 2009 and later. Participants will undergo physical testing, be integrated into the Canadian style of play, and develop individual performance plans (IPP) while competing against the best in their age group. Off the court, athletes will take part in educational and personal development sessions.

A technical summit will also take place during the camp, bringing together top coaches and staff from across Canada.

Following the assessment camp, selected athletes will advance to a summer training camp in early June, where the final 12-player roster will be determined ahead of the FIBA U16 Women's AmeriCup. Details regarding the date and location of the tournament will be announced at a later time.

Leading the coaching staff is Head Coach, Fabienne Blizzard, who will be joined by Assistant Coaches Jessica Roque, Robyn Fleckenstein, and Hali Burns.
