TORONTO (March 24, 2023) – Two Canadians – Aden Holloway and Michael Nwoko – have been selected to the World Select Team roster for the men’s game at the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit next month.
The 2023 Nike Hoop Summit will tip-off Saturday, April 8 at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon and will feature top international athletes 19-and-younger facing off against the top American high school seniors.

Named a 2023 McDonald’s All-American, Holloway is a 6-foot point guard and will attend Auburn University this year.
Nwoko, a 6-foot-10 centre from Milton, represented Canada last summer at the FIBA U18 Americas Men’s Championship 2022, where he averaged 12.2 points and 8.3 rebounds, second most in the tournament.
Former national team head coach and Canadian Roy Rana previously served as head coach of the World Select Team for ten years.
The 2023 World Select Team selects its roster from FIBA Africa, FIBA Americas, FIBA Asia, FIBA Europe and FIBA Oceania, with approved sanction of FIBA, the governing body of international basketball.
Held annually since 1995, except for 2001-03 and 2020-21, the Nike Hoop Summit has been in Portland since 2008.
