Olivier Hanlan and Aislinn Konig have been selected as the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for September 27 to October 3.
Hanlan had an incredible performance scoring 35 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists, shooting 13/19 from the field to lead Aris (Greece) over Panathinaikos in the Greek season opener. The Aylmer, QC native played for Boston College (NCAA) where he won the ACC rookie of the year honours and was selected as the 42nd overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Hanlan spent some time in the NBA and NBA G-League while playing professionally in Europe, currently in Greece. The 6'4" guard represented Team Canada for three years and most notably competed at the 2010 U17 World Championships and 2011 at the U19 World Championships.
In Castors Braine (Belgium) first two wins of the season, Konig averaged 19 points per game and shot 61% from the 3, while also adding 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal per game. The 5'9" guard from Langley, BC, played for North Carolina State (NCAA) where she had a successful college career, making it to the NCAA Sweet 16 twice and winning NC State's first ACC Championship in 29 years. Konig has represented Canada for over five years, earning bronze at the FIBA U19 Women's World Cup in 2017 and most recently represented Canada with the Senior Women's National Team at the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2021 this past summer.
