Anthony Bennett and Jamie Scott have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for February 15-21.
Anthony Bennett led Canada to back-to-back victories during the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 Qualifiers in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Bennett averaged 18 points, nine rebounds and two assists per game against the U.S. Virgin Islands to help Canada clinch their spot at the FIBA AmeriCup 2022. The 6-foot-8 forward from Toronto was drafted 1st overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers at the 2013 NBA Draft. Since then, he’s also played for the Timberwolves, Raptors, Nets, in the NBA G-League and overseas in Turkey. Internationally, Bennett hit the court for Canada at the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, 2015 Pan American Games, 2015 FIBA Americas Championship and at the junior level at the U16 FIBA Americas Championship and U17 FIBA World Championship. Prior to the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 Qualifiers, he also represented Canada during the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers.
Jamie Scott put up 19 points, four rebounds and three assists in Tarbes’ 85-63 win over Charnay for Player of the Week honours. Scott previously played for Oregon State, where she ended her collegiate career in the school's top 10 in scoring history. Prior to heading overseas, she also played for the Washington Mystics of the WNBA. She's been a member of Senior Women's National Team since 2014 and has represented Canada at the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2017 , FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018, 2019 Pan American Games and most recently helped lead Canada to an Olympic berth at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Ostend, Belgium.
