TORONTO, Ont. (January 23, 2023) - RJ Barrett and Shayeann Day-Wilson have been named Toyota Canada Players of the Week for January 16 - 22.

Barrett had a big week with the New York Knicks (NBA), bookended by a 30-point, seven rebound performance on Sunday in Toronto against the Raptors. In four games during the week, the product of Mississauga averaged 26.5 points, six rebounds and 2.8 assists. Barrett last suited up for Canada during the 2020 FIBA Men’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Victoria.

Day-Wilson, averaged 20 points-per-game in her two contests this week for the Duke Blue Devils (NCAA), shooting 63 per cent from the field and 71 per cent from beyond-the-arc. Day-Wilson is starring for a 17-2 Blue Devils team that ranked No. 13 in last week’s Associated Press Top 25 Women’s College Basketball Poll. The Torontonian last suited up for Canada in this past summer at GLOBL JAM, where she helped lead Canada to a gold medal.
