TORONTO, Ont. (July 17, 2024) - RJ Barrett and Nirra Fields have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for July 15-19.

The Senior Men’s National Team kicked off their pre-Olympic exhibition schedule last week with a matchup against the USA. This was Canada’s first game after participating in training camp in Toronto. Despite the 86-72 loss, RJ Barrett led the way, scoring 12 points and five rebounds. The team has travelled to France, where they will wrap up their remaining exhibition games.

Meanwhile, the Senior Women’s National Team just played in their third exhibition game of the summer, dropping their last two to Belgium and Spain. Nirra Fields led the way as the top guard, averaging 10 points in their two games over the week. The team now travels to Spain, where they will also wrap up their remaining exhibition games.
