Bennedict Mathurin, Laeticia Amihere Named Toyota Canada Players of the Week

TORONTO, Ont. (Nov 12, 2024) – Bennedict Mathurin and Laeticia Amihere have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for Nov. 4 - 10.

Mathurin averaged 24 points, eight rebounds, and two assists over the past four games, as the Indiana Pacers went 3-1 in that stretch. The Montréal native scored 38 points with 7 three pointers against the New York Knicks, coming away with a 132-121 win this past Sunday. Mathurin last played for Canada at the FIBA U19 Men’s Basketball World Cup in 2021, where he helped the team capture bronze. 

Last Wednesday, the Perth Lynx faced off against the Townsville Fire in Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League falling short 80-84. Amihere contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and two assists. The Mississauga native last played for the Senior Women’s National Team during the 2024 Paris Olympics this past August.
