TORONTO, Ont. (June 25, 2024) - Oshae Brissett and Jasmine Bascoe have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for June 24-28.
The Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship just last week, with Oshae Brissett becoming the 10th Canadian Player to win an NBA Championship. He is also the fourth straight Canadian on a championship-winning roster. Brissett last played for Canada on the U18 Men’s National Team in 2016, when they won silver at the FIBA Americas U18 Men's Championship.
Canada’s U18 Women’s National Team won silver at the FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup 2024 this week, going 5-1 and falling to the USA in a very close final. Jasmine Bascoe was a steady presence for the team, averaging 14.8 points per game (tied for 2nd overall) and first in assists per game (4.7). Her composure and impressive performances led Canada to many big wins throughout the week, along with the rest of her teammates. Bascoe was named to the All-Star 5 team of the tournament.
