TORONTO, Ont. (Feb. 21, 2024) - Dillon Brooks and Syla Swords have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for Feb. 19-23.
The Houston Rockets went 1-1 over the course of the week before the All-Star break, including a tight two-point win over the New York Knicks. The Mississauga native averaged 21 points and eight rebounds over the course of those two games, knocking down six threes in the Rockets’ win against the Knicks. Brooks last helped Canada qualify for the 2024 Olympics in September.
Shortly after helping the Canadian Senior Women’s National Team (SWNT) qualify for the Olympics in Sopron, Hungary, Swords returned to Long Island Lutheran High School to lead her team to back-to-back Top 10 wins. Swords put up 18 points, 14 rebounds, and recorded four steals to give the team their 20th win of the season.
