TORONTO (October 28, 2026) – Canada Basketball announced today the men’s and women’s 3x3 National Teams that will represent Canada at the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2026 in San Salvador, El Salvador, taking place Oct. 28-Nov. 2.
The women enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed, bringing a veteran roster featuring three Olympians and a wealth of international 3x3 experience.
Olympians Katherine Plouffe, Michelle Plouffe and Paige Crozon join the team following a strong 2026 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series campaign, which culminated in titles in Shanghai and Takasaki. Crozon is currently ranked No. 8 in the world, while Katherine Plouffe sits at No. 13.
Cassandra Brown rounds out the roster after competing at Women’s Series stops in Poitiers, Tokyo and Bangkok this summer. She was also a member of Canada’s championship-winning team at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Final in Shanghai.
The women will look to reclaim their AmeriCup title after finishing second to the United States last year.
Daniel Ferguson, who coached the women throughout this year’s Women’s Series, will continue to lead Canada at the AmeriCup.
On the men’s side, Canada enters as the No. 3 seed with a roster featuring a mix of 3x3 experience and new faces.
Jérôme Desrosiers returns to the 3x3 court after helping Canada finish fourth at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup. He will be joined by Adam Paige, a member of Canada’s bronze medal-winning team at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Connor Vreeken and Samuel Alamutu round out the roster and are set to make their 3x3 debuts. Both participated in training camp in Toronto, with Alamutu identified at Canada Basketball’s Open ID session before earning a training camp selection.
Competing in their first 3x3 tournament of the year, the men will look to return to the podium after falling to Puerto Rico in last year’s bronze medal game.
Jordan Jensen-Whyte will lead the men’s team after coaching both Canada’s men’s and women’s teams at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Both teams will open the tournament with two group-stage games. The women begin Friday, Oct. 30, against host El Salvador at 7:05 p.m. ET before facing Venezuela at 8:55 p.m. ET.
The men open their campaign Saturday, Oct. 31, against the winner of a qualifying game at 7:05 p.m. ET, followed by a matchup against Mexico at 8:55 p.m. ET.
The tournament will feature four pools of three teams in both the men’s and women’s competitions, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the quarterfinals on Nov. 1. The semifinals and finals will also take place that day.
All games will be streamed live on CBC Gem and FIBA’s 3x3 YouTube channel.
