TORONTO (June 23, 2023) – Canada Basketball and The Keg, “Official Casual Fine-Dining Partner of Canada Basketball and GLOBL JAM,” announced Friday a multi-year partnership extension.
The two organizations initially partnered last year around the inaugural GLOBL JAM, with the world-class international basketball showcase returning this July 12-16 at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Mattamy Athletic Centre and broadcast nationally across Sportsnet platforms.
“As one of the founding partners of the inaugural GLOBL JAM last year, we are excited to have The Keg rejoin us for the event next month,” said Michael Bartlett, Canada Basketball President & CEO. “Beyond GLOBL JAM, we’re also thrilled to establish a long-term partnership with The Keg to celebrate our biggest moments and milestones, both here at home and worldwide, over the next several years.”
The Keg Lounge also returns for a second year to GLOBL JAM and will provide Team Canada friends and family members with an unrivalled courtside viewing experience throughout the tournament. Be sure to follow Canada Basketball and The Keg across social media in the lead-up to the competition, as fans will also have the chance to win passes to watch a GLOBL JAM game from the Keg Lounge.
“We are thrilled to be announcing our three-year partnership with Canada Basketball. It was an honour to be a founding partner of the inaugural GLOBL JAM, and we are excited to be a part of this iconic event again this year while solidifying a long-term partnership,” said Chantal Chiarelli, The Keg’s Vice President of Marketing. “As a brand, we are passionate about developing a diverse sponsorship portfolio that resonates with all Canadians. Basketball continues to grow in popularity amongst younger audiences and is inclusive to all. We could not be prouder of our association with Canada Basketball.”
On the court, The Keg will be prominently featured on the shorts for both of Team Canada’s U23 Women’s and Men’s National Teams at the tournament.
In each year of the partnership, Canada Basketball and The Keg will work together to develop a community/charity strategy that will help support the growth of the game at the grassroots level here in Canada.
Beyond GLOBL JAM, Canada Basketball and The Keg will also co-develop a content series that takes fans beyond the box score to get to know their favourite Team Canada players and coaches, both on and off the court.
The Keg and Canada Basketball will continue to recognize significant player and team moments (i.e. birthdays, tournament wins, players getting drafted, etc.) across social media throughout the year. These moments (and more) will also be celebrated monthly as part of Canada Basketball’s Fast Break newsletter.
