TORONTO (September 16, 2025) - Marcus Carr and Katherine Plouffe have been named The Keg Size Players of the Week for September 8-14, presented by The Keg.
Several players had stellar performances at the FIBA Men’s AmeriCup 2025 in Managua, Nicaragua late last month, including Toronto, Ont. native Marcus Carr. Carr averaged 10.3 points per game, along with shooting 56% from the field and 80% from the free throw line. His tournament high came during a semi-final loss to Argentina, where the point guard put up 16 points along with two rebounds and four assists. Carr was a key member of the Senior Men’s National Team throughout all AmeriCup Qualifying windows, helping bring the team to a fourth place finish in the tournament.
Plouffe is no stranger to dominating the 3x3 stage. This past weekend, Canada’s 3x3 Women’s National Team took home gold at the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Final in Shanghai, China, and the Edmonton, Alta. native had herself a tournament. Plouffe finished the tournament ranked third overall in player value and tied for the tournament lead in rebounds with 31. Plouffe also played a key role in Canada’s semi-final win over Spain, putting up eight points and eight rebounds. Prior to this, Plouffe last represented Canada at Women’s Series stops in Bordeaux and Edmonton, where Canada came out victorious at both.
