Dominant performances Headline Day 3 of U15 & U17 Men’s National Championships
THE RUNDOWN
Elimination game action officially arrived today in Regina, as Day 3 of the 2026 U15 and U17 National Championships featured nine games from both Men’s divisions at the University of Regina on Wednesday.
NOTEWORTHY
- Six teams punched their tickets to tomorrow’s quarter-finals – Saskatchewan’s U15 and U17 squads, Nova Scotia’s U15 and U17 Men’s teams and New Brunswick’s U15 and U17 Men’s squads.
- Manitoba’s U15 Men’s squad and Quebec’s U17 Men’s team await opponents in Friday’s semifinals after punching their tickets with victories today. Manitoba held off a late charge from Alberta to advance thanks to a 71-65, while Quebec overcame an early deficit and rolled to a 91-71 win.
- Northwest Territories nearly qualified for the territories first quarter-final appearance at a Canada Basketball National Championship – but they were ousted by New Brunswick 94-88, despite a 33-point performance from Zachary Mathison.
- Six quarter-finals are on deck tomorrow in Regina, as in the U15 Men’s Division, Ontario will clash with New Brunswick, Quebec will take on Saskatchewan and British Columbia will face Nova Scotia. In U17 Men’s action, six teams will take the floor with podium hopes. British Columbia will battle New Brunswick, Alberta meets Saskatchewan and Ontario will take the court against Nova Scotia.
