TORONTO (Mar. 11, 2025) - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Kayla Alexander have been named the Players of the Week for Mar. 3-9. 

It was another phenomenal week for SGA and the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are currently on a six-game winning streak, finishing 3-0 on the week. In these games, the Hamilton, Ont. native averaged 44 points, five rebounds, and seven assists while shooting 54% from the field, 40% from the arc, and a perfect 100% from the free-throw line. He did so against elite competition— this stretch came against the Rockets, Grizzlies, and Nuggets, all of whom are seeded in the top five of the Western Conference. Gilgeous-Alexander last represented Canada at the Paris 2024 Olympics, helping the Senior Men’s National Team to a fifth-place finish.

Alexander continues to find success for Valencia in the Liga Femenina (Spain), putting up 23 points while shooting 83.3% from the field, grabbing six rebounds and securing two steals in a hard-fought battle against Perfumerias Avenida. The Milton, Ont. native has built an impressive career, which was recognized in December 2024 when the Syracuse Orange, her former university, retired her jersey, cementing her legacy. Alexander last suited up for Canada with the Senior Women’s National Team at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
