BORDEAUX, France (Aug. 21, 2025) — Canada’s 3x3 women’s national team captured its second consecutive FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series stop on Thursday, defeating Austria 18-12 in the final to win in Bordeaux, France.
Canada, fresh off its victory in Edmonton two weeks ago, cruised through group play with a 21-6 win over Uganda and a 21-10 win over Austria to finish first in Pool A.
They advanced with a 21-12 quarterfinal win over Ulaanbaatar before downing the United States 20-15 in the semifinal.
Saicha Grant-Allen was named tournament MVP after posting the highest player value at 34.7. She also finished as the tournament’s top scorer with 28 points. Cassandra Brown and Paige Crozon followed with 27 points apiece, while Katherine Plouffe registered a tournament-high 14 key assists.
In the semifinal against the U.S., Grant-Allen scored eight of Canada’s 20 points. Plouffe added six assists in that game alone, and Brown pulled down a game-high six rebounds.
In the final, Crozon delivered with a game-high 10 points and a team-high five rebounds to seal the win.
