TORONTO (Feb. 4, 2025) - Kadre Gray and Latasha Lattimore have been named the Players of the Week for Jan. 27- Feb. 2.
Gray made headlines this week as the Toronto, Ont. native led his Romanian club, CS Valcea 1924, to an electrifying five-overtime win against CS Rapid Bucuresti, dropping 52 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in 62 minutes of playing time — the most points scored by a Canadian in the Romanian league. The Laurentian Voyageurs alumnus is having an incredible season overseas, leading the league in both points (383) and assists (105), while sitting second in rebounds (86). The guard last represented Canada at the FIBA Men’s AmeriCup Qualifiers this past November, where Canada won both games to move to improve their record to 4-0 in AmeriCup Qualifiers.
Meanwhile Lattimore, a senior forward for the Virginia Cavaliers (NCAA), was a powerhouse over the week. In a hard fought battle against the Miami Hurricanes, the product of Toronto, Ont. scored 25 points, along with seven rebounds, two assists, and shooting 62.5% from the field. Just two days later, Lattimore put up another remarkable performance; a career-high 26 points, six rebounds, and three blocks to help propel the Cavaliers to a comeback win over the Syracuse Orange. Lattimore last suited up for Canada at GLOBL JAM in 2022, where the U23 Women’s National Team won the gold medal.
