Jackson Rowe and Emily Potter have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for the week of April 11th to 17th.
Rowe averaged 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists in two games over the past week in Sweden. Rowe is having a very strong season, leading the Norrköping Dolphins in points and rebounds per game. The 6’7” forward from Toronto, ON attended CS Fullerton (NCAA) where he was named the 2017 Big West Conference Freshman of the Year and was named to the 2020 All-Big West Second Team in his senior year before beginning his professional career in Europe. Rowe attended Canada Basketball’s Senior Men’s National Team training camp in February ahead of the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers second window.
In Potter’s three games this week with Esperides (Greece), she averaged 26 points and 11 rebounds per game while shooting 55% from the field. The 6’4” centre from Winnipeg, MB played college ball at the University of Utah (NCAA), where she became the first player in program history to record over 1,500 points, 1000 rebounds and 200 blocks. Potter has represented Team Canada for over six years, and most recently competed at the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru and attended the Senior Women’s National Team camp in November 2021 and was named to the preliminary roster for the FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying tournament this past February.
