TORONTO, Ont. (October 23, 2024) – Lindell Wigginton and Abigail Fogg have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for Oct 14-18.
The Shandong Hi-Speed Kirin kicked off their regular season last week in the Chinese Basketball Association, opening their 2024-25 campaign with a 3-2 record. Wigginton has been a dominant force over that stretch, averaging 26 points, two rebounds and six assists, while shooting 49% from beyond the arc on 6.7 attempts per game. The Halifax, N.S. native last played for Canada in 2017 on the U19 Men’s National team that captured gold at the FIBA U19 World Cup.
This past weekend in the Swiss Basketball League, Fogg and her pro club, Elfic Fribourg, picked up a 102-56 win over league rivals Geneve LPLO, leaving them tied in league standings early in the season. The Sault Ste Marie, Ont. native dropped 26 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, while shooting 78.6% from the floor. Fogg last played for Canada on the Senior Women’s National team during the 2018 Sino- Canadian Women’s International Basketball Challenge.
