Melvin Ejim, Bridget Carleton Named Toyota Canada Players of the Week

TORONTO, Ont. (September 18th, 2024) – Melvin Ejim and Bridget Carleton have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for September 9th - 15th.

On September 15th, Unicaja faced off against the NBA G League United in the FIBA final Intercontinental Cup held in Singapore, where Unicaja won 75-60. This is the second major event Ejim won this year, following Unicaja’s victory in the Basketball Champions league in April. Ejim has played on Unicaja since 2022, and in August, was named an Olympian with the Senior Men’s National Team in Paris.

Minnesota Lynx’s Bridget Carleton is taking the WNBA by storm this past season reaching a career high averaging 9.6 PPG, 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. The Lynx are currently sitting at first in the Western Conference as the WNBA wraps up their regular season schedule before playoffs. Carleton was named on her second Olympic team on the Senior Women’s National Team for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, averaging 13.3 points and 6.3 assists per game.
