TORONTO, Ont. (March 6, 2023) - Ryan Nembhard and Kayla Alexander have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for February 27 - March 5.

Nembhard helped No. 24 Creighton to a pair of victories this past week over DePaul and Georgetown. The sophomore point guard had 20 points and 11 rebounds in the Blue Jays regular-season finale, positioning the program as the number-three seed in the Big East Conference Tournament, which they will begin on Thursday, Mar. 9. Nembhard last represented his country this past summer, suiting up for Canada’s Men’s U23 roster this past summer at GLOBL JAM in Toronto.

Alexander had a massive week for Bourges (France), including a 24-point, 13-rebound performance against Fenerbahce Safiport in Euroleague action. Alexander also recorded 14 points and five rebounds in Bourges 77-52 win over Toulouse in LFB action. Alexander has helped her team to a 13-2 record in league play thus far this season. The Milton, Ont. product last suited up for Canada this past summer, helping the National Women’s Team to a fourth-place finish this past fall at the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
