TORONTO, Ontario (May 29, 2024) - Andrew Nembhard and Bridget Carleton have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for May 27-31.
The Indiana Pacers had their deepest run of the NBA Playoffs in a long time, and Canadian Andrew Nembhard provided a significant presence for the team. Nembhard averaged 20 points, three rebounds, and seven assists in three games over the last week, including a 32-point performance in Tyrese Haliburton’s absence.
The Minnesota Lynx are 4-1 to start the WNBA season, their best start in several years. Chatham, Ont. product Bridget Carleton lifted Minnesota to two straight wins last week over the New York Liberty and the Atlanta Dream. Carleton posted 14 points, two rebounds, and three assists in a big win against the Liberty. She followed it up with six points and five rebounds against the Dream. Carleton last helped the Canadian Senior Women’s National Team qualify for the Paris Olympics in February.
