TORONTO, Ont. (March 27, 2023) - Shaedon Sharpe and Nirra Fields have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for March 20 - March 26.

Sharpe had a big week for the Portland Trail Blazers, recording 20-plus points in each of his three games. Facing off against fellow Canadians Shai Gilgeous-Alexadner and Lu Dort on Sunday, the London, Ont. product poured in a career-high 29 points on 9-13 shooting, to go along with five rebounds and three assists. Sharpe last suited up for the National Team at the 2019 FIBA U16 Americas Championship in Brazil, where he helped lead Canada to a silver medal.

Fields helped Emlak to a convincing 86-49 win over Cankaya in Turkey-KBSL action, improving their record to 14-10 this season. The UCLA alumna registered 16 points on 6-11 shooting to go along with six rebounds, and two assists. Fields, who was born in New Westminster, B.C., last suited up for Canada this past fall where she played a big role in helping the Women’s National Team to a fourth-place finish at the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
