Sharpe, Gibb named Players of the Week

TORONTO (Mar. 4, 2025) - Shaedon Sharpe and Delaney Gibb have been named the Players of the Week for Feb. 24- Mar. 2. 

Sharpe, a guard for the Portland Trail Blazers, put together a strong week as Portland went 3-1, highlighted by a standout performance against the Washington Wizards, where the London, Ont. native dropped 36 points, eight rebounds, and five assists – capped off by an unreal dunk that lit up the highlights. Drafted with the seventh overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft, he has been a key piece for the Trail Blazers this season, averaging 17.5 points, four rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Sharpe last suited up for Canada at the 2019 FIBA U16 Men’s Americas Championship in Brazil, where he helped lead Canada to a silver medal. 

Gibb continues to build on her historic freshman season with the BYU Cougars, putting up 36 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and shooting an impressive 72.2% from the field in a narrow overtime loss to the Utah Utes. Last week, the Raymond, Alta. product was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week for the third week in a row and the ninth time this season, giving her the second-most weekly freshman awards earned in a single season. Gibb last represented Canada at the 2023 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup, helping the team to a bronze finish. She also partook in training camp this past summer in Edmonton with the Senior Women’s National Team in the lead-up to the 2024 Olympic Games.
