One field started with 68 teams, the other with 64 and now both tournaments have reached the final four teams.

From a total of 40 Canadians combined in the men’s and women’s tournament, Kyle WIltjer and Natalie Achonwa are the two final Canadians still standing in the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournament.

Kyle WIltjer and the number one seeded Kentucky have had a great tournament and are two wins away from capping off a great season.  On a talent heavy Kentucky team, Kyle has seen the floor in every game in the tournament. He has averaged 6 minutes per game in the tournament games so far. When Kyle has been on the floor he has been efficient, he has shot 43% from the floor and 60% from behind the arc.

It’s an all-state Kentucky affair when the Kentucky Wildcats take on rivals, Louisville Cardinals on Saturday. The winner will have a berth into the National Championship against the winner of the Ohio State and Kansas game.

For Natalie Achonwa and the number one seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish, they will be playing against a familiar Big-East opponent, University of Connecticut.  Notre Dame and Connecticut have faced off three times this season, with Notre Dame winning two of the games.

Natalie has a had a very good tournament so far. She is averaging 18 minutes, 9.25 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.75 assists per game in the tournament.  Her best game came in the elite 8 when she had 18 points and 7 rebounds. Natalie is a key part on the Notre Dame team and will be a big factor if Notre Dame hopes to win.

The winner of the Notre Dame and Connecticut game will go onto the National Championship game against the winner of the Stanford and Baylor game.
