Tyler Ennis, Katherine Plouffe Named Toyota Canada Players of the Week

TORONTO, Ont. (September 10th, 2024) – Tyler Ennis and Katherine Plouffe have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for the week of September 2nd to 8th.

Suiting up for Reyer Venezia in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A, Ennis dropped a team-high 19-points in an overtime win against Pallacanestro Trieste, 84-81, in preseason action. The Toronto, Ont. Native signed with Reyer this past summer after a brief stint with Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv earlier this year. Ennis, a first-round draft pick (18th – Phoenix Suns) in the 2014 NBA draft, has had NBA stops with the Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Raptors 905.

The Canadian 3x3 women’s national team led by Plouffe, made the trip to Hangzhou, China over the weekend to compete in the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Final. Canada, the reigning back-to-back women’s series champions, fell short of a three-peat falling in the semifinals to Netherlands, 21-19. Plouffe was outstanding in the competition, leading all players with 35 points, and 38 rebounds, for a tournament-high player value of 43.6. Plouffe, a two-time Olympian, helped Canada’s 3x3 women’s national team qualify for the Olympics for the first time in program history, placing fourth overall at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
