Canada put the basketball world on notice with two dominant home wins at the TD Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario. On July 3, Canada blew past Puerto Rico 110-84, then followed it up on July 6 with a 116-78 statement win over Jamaica. The results push Canada to a perfect 6-0 and 12 points in qualifying play and lock up the top spot in Group B heading into the highly anticipated Quebec City game.

A total of 16 teams are competing in the qualifiers, with the top seven advancing to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 in Qatar. The Videotron Centre is a multipurpose arena that opened on September 12, 2015.
