TORONTO (Mar. 25, 2025) - Andrew Wiggins and Sarah Te-Biasu have been named the Players of the Week for Mar. 17-23.
Wiggins, who was traded to the Miami Heat last month, had a big week, averaging 36 points, three rebounds and four assists, while shooting an impressive 77% from the field. His week was highlighted in a win against the Charlotte Hornets, where the Concord, Ont. native exploded for 42 points, along with three rebounds and five assists. Wiggins last suited up for Canada with the Senior Men’s National Team in Toronto this past summer as part of their Olympic training camp in the lead-up to the 2024 Olympic Games.
The Maryland Terrapins (NCAA) kicked off the first round of this year’s March Madness in style, defeating the Norfolk State Spartans 82-69. Te-Biasu was on fire, dropping a game-high 22 points – 18 of which came from three-pointers – along with three rebounds and three assists. The Montreal, Que. native is no stranger to standout performances as earlier this month, she hit a game-winning bucket with just one second remaining in overtime to bring the Terrapins to their fifth-ranked win of the season over Ohio State. Te-Biasu last represented Canada at GLOBL JAM in 2023, where she starred for the U23 Women’s National Team in Toronto, where the team finished silver.
