TORONTO (January 7, 2026) - Kyle Wiltjer and Avery Howell have been named The Keg Size Players of the Week for December 29-January 4, presented by The Keg.

Wiltjer started the new year hot, showcasing his elite scoring ability. The big man had a standout game for Umana Venezia (Italy), leading the charge in scoring by dropping 28 points on a very efficient 9/12 shooting from the field. This led Umana Venezia to a 118-103 win on the road against Nepyunas. The Portland, OR native is having a strong showing this season in the EuroCup, averaging 12.3 PPG and 3.1 rebounds for the year. Wiltjer was last seen representing Canada at the 2025 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers this past December in Toronto.

Howell continues her excellence on the NCAA stage as she helped lead the Huskies to a huge win against the number 6 ranked Michigan, a perfect way to ring in the new year. The 5'11" guard was a factor in both putting the ball in the hoop and cleaning up the glass, posting a productive 22 points and grabbing 16 boards, a career high in rebounds for her NCAA career. She was also named USBWA Player of the Week for her dominant performances against Michigan and Northwestern. The sophomore is currently averaging 15.5 points and 8.2 rebounds on the season. Howell last suited up for Canada this past summer in Toronto at GLOBL JAM, where the U23 Women’s National team captured gold.
