TORONTO, Ont. - With the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament slated for June 2021 in Victoria, B.C., Dillon Brooks is already looking ahead to what could be a big summer for Canada Basketball.
Speaking with reporters Thursday ahead of the 2020-21 NBA season, Brooks reaffirmed his commitment to representing Canada.
"100 percent. Anytime I get a chance to play for my country I'll play,” Brooks said. “This year is a special year - we've got so many players in the NBA, so [much] great Canadian talent.
"This is probably the year where we put Canada on the map."
A native of Mississauga, ON, Brooks last represented Canada during the summer of 2018 where he appeared in a pair of exhibition games against China, as well as the third window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers.
Last season, Brooks appeared in 73 games with the Grizzlies, averaging 16.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
