Canada Basketball has three new inductees to the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame. Andrea Blackwell, Candace Clarkson and Bill Coulthard will all be officially inducted on February 21st, 2014, at the Toronto Raptors game against the Cleveland Cavaliers held at the Air Canada Centre. Both Coulthard and Clarkson will enter the hall through the veteran’s ballot, whereas Blackwell will be inducted by receiving 70% of the votes by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

Since the first inductions in 1978, the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame aims to recognize, honour, immortalize and enshrine the contributions to the development and enhancement of basketball in Canada and internationally. Everyone from athletes, teams, coaches and ambassadors of the sport in Canada can be inducted to the hall.

Athletes, as in the case of these three inductees, are individuals who, while Canadian citizens, have participated as a player at an elite level and have achieved outstanding and extraordinary success as a player in the sport of basketball at the amateur and/or professional level.

More details on each inductee’s illustrious basketball career will be released on Friday, February 21st, 2014.
