A recap of the second day's action!

In 15U action, Newfoundland holds off British Columbia and in 17U, Nova Scotia narrowly defeats Quebec!

15U Men's Recap - Day 2

Newfoundland upset British Columbia 68-60 in the only game of the day in Pool B. In a close game with only an 8 point difference through most of the second and third quarter, Newfoundland held on to take the win and advance to the quarter finals. Leading scorers for Newfoundland were Caleb Sooley, 22 and Caleb DâEntremont, 20. Leading scorers for British Columbia were Victor Radocaj, 13 and Payton Lum and Peter Li with 11 each. The top rebounder for Newfoundland was Carter Boland, 15 and for British Columbia was Victor Radocaj, 13.

Pool A

New Brunswick snuck past Saskatchewan 60-56 (New Brunswick's top scorer: Norman Burry, 15; Saskatchewan's top scorer: Alan Spoonhunter, 14).

Pool C

Nova Scotia beat Alberta 88-79 (Nova Scotia's top scorer: Kellen Tynes, 31; Albertaâ??s top scorer: Brandon, 25). Manitoba defeated Prince Edward Island 83-56 (Manitoba's top scorer: Terrel Jordan, 20; Prince Edward Island's top scorer: Logan Maccallum, 10).

Continuing on to Day 3, British Columbia will play host team Manitoba at 1:30pm, Ontario competes against Quebec at 3:45pm, Nova Scotia takes on the Territories at 6:00pm, and Alberta plays Prince Edward Island at 8:15pm. All games will be played at the True North RecPlex court.

 

17U Men's Recap - Day 2

In the only Pool A game of the day, Nova Scotia won the battle against Quebec 96-90. It was a close game with less than a 10 point difference throughout. Leading scorers for Nova Scotia were Eli Kraushar, 24; Chase Tynes, 22 and Andrew Milner, 17. Leading scorers for Quebec were JaShont Wright-McLeish, 22 and Leonardo De Connick, 15. Top rebounders for Nova Scotia were Chase Tynes, 14 and Eli Kraushar, 10. Top rebounders for Quebec were Anthony Felisma, 9 and Jaâ??Shonté Wright-McLeish, 8.

Pool B

Host team Manitoba defeated Alberta 106-78 to advance to the quarter finals (Manitoba's top scorer: Emmanuel Akot, 32; Alberta's top scorer: Adong Makuoi, 15).

Pool C

Prince Edward Island beat Newfoundland 86-61 (Prince Edward Island's top scorer: Alexander Campbell, 18; Newfoundland's top scorer: Emanuel Ring Lual, 29). Saskatchewan defeated New Brunswick 110-70 (Saskatchewan's top scorer: Jaâ??Shon Henry, 18; New Brunswick's top scorer: Brett Speedy, 11).

Continuing on to Day 3, British Columbia will play Ontario at 1:30pm, Alberta battles Prince Edward Island at 3:45pm, New Brunswick takes on Newfoundland at 6:00pm, and Saskatchewan plays the Territories at 8:15pm. All games will be played at the Duckworth Centre court.
