Quarter-final 1: Redmen advance to semifinal round

HALIFAX, N.S. (U SPORTS) - The third-seeded McGill Redmen put on a defensive clinic to take down the high-scoring UNB Varsity Reds 88-57 in the opening game of the U SPORTS Men's Basketball Final 8 tournament.

The RESQ champions boasted a balanced attack with five players scoring in double figures. Dele Ogundokun had a team-high 17 points, while teammates Sebastian Beckett (13), Alex Paquin (12), Jenning Leung (12) and reserve Noah Daoust (11) each recorded double-digit figures.

Quarter-final 2: Calgary holds on for 78-76 win over Brock

The second quarter-final of the U SPORTS Men's Basketball Championship was a real barn-burner with the Calgary Dinos holding on for a 78-76 win over the Brock Badgers.

The second-ranked Dinos led 38-29 at halftime, only to see the seventh-seeded Badgers battle back to tie the score and take a 62-60 lead with six-and-a-half minutes left to play. The score jockeyed back and forth the rest of the way, with Calgary making a two-point basket with 45 seconds on the clock to account for their final margin of victory.

Quarter-final 3: Rams too much for Alberta

The Ryerson Rams are headed to the semifinals thanks to some stellar three-point shooting.

The fifth-seeded Rams drilled 20 triples against the Alberta Golden Bears and controlled the game from start to finish en route to an 88-62 victory.

Manny Diressa put up a game-high 25 points and seven assists, while teammates Jean-Victor Mukama (21), Myles Charvis (14) and Filip Vujadinovic (12) each finished in double figures.

Quarter-final 4: Defending champions move on to semifinal round

The Carleton Ravens drive to record an eighth-straight U SPORTS championship title continues after an 81-64 win over the host Acadia Axemen in the fourth and final quarter-final game Thursday evening at Scotiabank Centre.

In an inspired performance in front of a partisan crowd, the Axemen competed for all but the last seven minutes of the fourth quarter, keeping pace with the defending champions.
