Quarter-final 1: Ravens advance past Dinos with strong defensive effort

REGINA, Sask. (U SPORTS) - The No. 1-seeded Carleton Ravens took care of business in the opening game of the 2018 U SPORTS Women's Basketball Final 8 Championship in Regina, taking a 52-42 win in a defensive battle against the Calgary Dinos at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport on Thursday afternoon.

The Ravens'number one-ranked defence was impressive from the start, holding Calgary to just six points in the opening quarter. The Dinos began to find their rhythm in the second half, but Carleton conceded no easy baskets.

Quarter-final 2: Second-half defence leads McGill to quarter-final win over McMaster

McGill surrendered just 12 second-half points en route to a 55-39 victory over McMaster on Thursday afternoon in a U SPORTS women's basketball quarter-final at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

Quarter-final 3: Cougars use big second-half run to pull away from Laval

The University of Regina's women's basketball team went on a huge 18-4 run in the second half to pull away from Laval for a 76-56 win on Thursday night in a U SPORTS Championship quarter-final matchup at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

The win sends the No. 2-seeded Cougars to the semifinals on Saturday night

Quarter-final 4: Saskatchewan Huskies come back for win over Acadia

The No. 6-seeded Saskatchewan Huskies overcame a 15-point deficit enroute to a 72-67 upset over the No. 3 seeded and Atlantic University Sport champion Acadia Axewomen Thursday in quarter-final action in the U SPORTS Womenâ??s Basketball Final 8 at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport.

Down from the final four minutes of the first quarter, Saskatchewan outscored Acadia in the second quarter by six points, in the third by one and in the fourth by six for the quarter-final victory.
