Toronto, Ont. – Canada Basketball will conduct open tryouts for the 2014 Cadet Men’s National Team (CMNT) on Wednesday, June 25 at Humber College – North Campus from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The tryouts are open to Canadian athletes born January 1, 1997 or later and have a valid Canadian passport. National team coaches will assess players for potential inclusion in the invitational selection camp for the Cadet national team beginning June 26.  

Canada’s CMNT will compete in the FIBA U17 World Championships for Men in Dubai. The competition runs from August 8 to August 16. The team will also compete in an exhibition tournament in France, from July 31 to August 2.

Athletes interested in participating in the open tryout should arrive at the Humber College – North Campus gym at 5:30 p.m. to register. A passport and birth certificate will need to be verified.

An athletic therapist will be in attendance for emergency services only.

The tryout will be closed to media. Information for media availability during training camp will be released prior to camp.
