TORONTO (September 12, 2025) - Fresh off consecutive victories at the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Stops in Edmonton and Bordeaux, the Canadian 3x3 Women’s National Team is set to showcase its podium-ready roster once again at the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Final in Shanghai, China on September 13-14.

Joining the roster are seasoned veterans Cassandra Brown (Vernon, BC.), Paige Crozon (Humboldt, Sask.), Saicha Grant-Allen (Hamilton, Ont.), and Katherine Plouffe (Edmonton, Alta.), making for a championship-calibre squad.

“We’re coming into the final with great momentum,” said Steve Baur, General Manager and Vice-President of Women’s High Performance. “The team has been playing at an elite level, and the performances in Edmonton and Bordeaux showed just how dangerous this group can be. We’re ready to compete for a championship.”

Canada was dominant on the boards in Bordeaux, France at their last FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Stop; Grant-Allen’s 28 points, along with 27 apiece from Crozon and Brown, put all three in the top three scorers of the tournament. Grant-Allen and Crozon also ranked first and second in player value, while Plouffe led all players with 14 key assists. Grant-Allen’s all-around performance earned her tournament MVP honours, capping off a standout showing for Canada.

Canada enters the tournament as the second seed, falling just below Netherlands who took home 3x3 World Cup Gold in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia this past June.

The red and white are ranked fifth in Tour Standings and second in the FIBA 3x3 Federation Rankings, while Crozon and Grant-Allen are ranked fourth and fifth respectively in the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Individual World Rankings.

Canada are two-time Women’s Series champions, beating out France in both Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 2023 and Constanta, Romania in 2022 to take home the gold. Their last finals appearance came in Hangzhou, China in 2024 where the team placed third after falling to Netherlands 21-19 in the semi-finals.

All games will be streamed live on CBC Sports, with pool play beginning Saturday, followed by knockout round action on Sunday.

Canada kicks off their run against Azerbaijan on Saturday, Sept. 13th at 3:25 a.m. ET / 12:25 a.m. PT.
