Senior Men’s and Women’s National Teams to play final pre-Olympic exhibition games in France and Spain

TORONTO (July 16, 2024) - Canada’s Senior National Teams are in Europe this month to wrap up their final pre-Olympic exhibition games.

The Senior Men’s National Team kicked off their exhibition schedule in Las Vegas last week, where they lost a hard-fought battle to the USA. RJ Barrett led Canada with 12 points on six field-goal attempts, while Dillon Brooks and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 10 points apiece.

From Vegas, the team travelled to France, where the team will continue their training camp and face two more teams in their upcoming pre-Olympic schedule:

July 19th vs. France (3:10 p.m. ET / 12:10 p.m. PT)

July 21st vs. Puerto Rico (12:30 p.m. ET / 9:30 a.m. PT)

Meanwhile, the Senior Women’s National Team has played three exhibition games, and next week, they will play two more in Spain.

The team started with a big win on home soil in Victoria, BC, where they defeated Portugal on June 27. Following the official roster announcement, the team travelled to Charleroi, Belgium, where they faced Spain and Belgium in two exhibition matchups.

Still without Bridget Carleton, Kia Nurse, and Aaliyah Edwards as they continue to play in the WNBA, Canada dropped their two games in Belgium and will look to get back in the win column in Spain:

July 23rd vs. Australia (12:00 pm ET / 9:00 am PT)

July 24th vs. Spain (2:00 pm ET / 11:00 am PT)

Fans can watch all remaining exhibition games for both teams live on CBC Gem and follow along on Canada Basketball socials for continued coverage.
