Both Canada and Australia have punched a ticket into the quarters-finals, but this game is important to see which team each of them will face. If Canada were to win, Canada could place third in the group and play the second place team in group A. If Canada were to lose, they would play the first place finishers in group A.

Australia is ranked second in the world, only trailing the USA who are ranked number one.

Australia is currently 3-1. They opened their tournament with a win over Great Britain 74-58. They followed that with a 74-70 loss to France, and then they defeated Brazil 67-61 and beat Russia 70-66.

Canada will have to contain Australia’s center, Lauren Jackson who has averaged 14.5 points per game and added 5.5 rebounds so far in the tournament. Another key player to watch is Suzy Batkovic who is averaging 13.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

The game will be televised on Sportsnet at 9:30 a.m. EDT and will also be streamed on ctvolympics.ca.
