Canadian Draft Hopefuls Could Get Look From Raptors

There were rightful celebrations in the Canadian basketball community last June when Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph became first-round NBA draft picks, the former a surprise No. 4 to Cleveland and the latter a surprise No. 29 San Antonio.
There aren’t likely to be those kinds of surprises this year when the draft rolls around but with the NCAA season getting close to the conference tournament phase — March Madness is just over a month away — there are hopes for a couple of Canadian kids to work their way somewhere into the draft.
Armed with their own pick in the second round, where they might have a shot at some homegrown kid, and likely with a top seven or eight pick in lottery — top three or four if they get lucky — there will be various options available to the Raptors.
