Murphy Burnatowski (Waterloo, ON) – Colgate, Sr.

In Burnatowski’s first game in a Colgate uniform, he led all scorers with 23 points against Illinois, but it wasn’t enough as they lost 75-55. In his second game  against Marquette on the weekend, he had a bigger game where he recorded a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Unfortunately, it again wasn’t  enough as Colgate dropped to 0-2 with an 84-63 loss.

Michelle Plouffe (Edmonton, AB) and Taryn Wicijowski (Regina, SK) – Utah Jr. and Sr.

In Utah’s opening game of the season, Utah was led by their Canadian front court featuring honourable mention AP All-American, Michelle  Plouffe and Taryn Wicijowski. Utah went on to down Denver, 75-60.

Dwight Powell (Toronto, ON) – Stanford,  Jr.

In the opening game for the Cardinals, Dwight Powell came ready to play against San Francisco. Showing off his extra 15 pounds to his frame, he used it to  his advantage by shooting 9-of-14 from the field including 2-of-3 from behind the arc. In the end, Powell scored a career-high 27 points and added seven  rebounds, a pair of assists and a steal and a block. Stanford went on to win 74-62.
