Wumi Agunbiade (Pickering, ON) – Duquesne, Jr.

In a game against the ranked Delaware, Agunbiade had a great game by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds as Duquesne upset the 17th ranked Delaware, 51-47. Wumi went 7-for-19 from the field and added a block in the game.

Kayla Alexander (Milton, ON) – Syracuse, Sr.

Kayla Alexander has had a great start to her senior season with Syracuse. In her first three games she has recorded three double-doubles in a row. Her second double-double was recorded in a 68-44 win against Maine, where she scored 19 points and 12 rebounds. In the third game of the season against Cornell, she scored 26 points and 13 rebounds in a blowout win for the Orange, 80-35. Alexander was also named Big East Player of the Week!

Anthony Bennett (Brampton, ON) – UNLV, Fr.

A highly touted recruit, Anthony Bennett had a lot of hype entering the NCAA basketball season, but it didn’t seem to phase him as he scored a game-high 22 points and added seven rebounds in his collegiate debut, where UNLV won 92-54. In his second game, Bennett didn’t slow down as he recorded 12 points and nine rebounds.

Brady Heslip (Burlington, ON) – Baylor, Jr.

After a somewhat slow-start for Brady Heslip to start the season, he shot the lights out on Sunday in a 97-78 win over St. John’s. Heslip scored a career-high 29 points by going 8-for-13 from the field and 8-for-12 from beyond the arc. Heslip added five rebounds and three steals for the 4-1 Baylor Bears.

Deanna Kerkhof (Wallaceburg, ON) – Northeastern, Sr.

In Northeastern’s second game of the year, Deanna had a big game as she scored a game-high 22 points, while adding seven rebounds and four assists in a blowout win against La Salle 76-45. Deanna was very efficient as she shot 8-for-13 from the field to help bring Northeastern’s record to 1-1 on the young season.

Daniel Mullings (Toronto, ON) – New Mexico State, So.

In two games over the weekend, Mullings was an offensive leader for the Aggies. In the first game against Bucknell, the Aggies played poorly, but Mullings was a bright spot where he scored a team-high 22 points and six rebounds in a 62-49 loss. In the following game against Niagara, Mullings scored a team-high 26 points and added seven rebounds and three assists, but it wasn’t enough as Niagara squeaked by 86-83.

Dyshawn Pierre (Whitby, ON) – Dayton, Fr.

A perfect offensive performance from freshman Dyshawn Pierre helped the Dayton Flyers to an 87-71 victory over the Boston College Eagles in the second round of the Charleston Classic. Pierre shot 8-of-8 from the field and hit all five shots from three-point range to finish with 23 points. Pierre is the first freshman to score 20+ points for Dayton since 2007. Pierre was named A-10 Co-Rookie Player of the Week!

Michelle Plouffe (Edmonton, AB) So, and Taryn Wicijowski (Regina, SK) – Utah, Jr.

Wicijowski had another impressive week for the Utah. In the first game, Wicijowski scored 20 points and added a career high 15 rebounds in a 79-61 win over Southern Utah. In the following game, Michelle Plouffe scored a game-high 20 points and added six rebounds, while Wicijowski again had a solid outing versus Michigan. In the 59-40 win, Wicijowski scored 17 points and added seven rebounds.

Kyle Wiltjer (Portland, OR) – Kentucky, So.

Wiltjer and Kentucky bounced back from a tough loss earlier in the week to Duke, as Kentucky routed Lafayette 101-49 in its home opener Friday night. Wiltjer nailed seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points, while adding four boards and two assists.
