Canadian Nominated For Senior Class Award

Milton, ON native, Kayla Alexander was one of 60 men and women to be nominated for the Senior Class Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.

Alexander owns a 3.272 cumulative GPA and is a social studies education major with a minor in French and francophone studies.

Alexander keeps busy by being a part of numerous community outreach programs. She is a Syracuse University U100 Admissions Ambassador (an exclusive and highly selective group that assists prospective students and families).

When Alexander isn’t studying, practicing or working in the U100 Admissions office, she also volunteers as a speech teacher in high schools located in the Syracuse area and at local food kitchens.

On the basketball court, Alexander has been named to the All-Big East team twice and was named to the Big East All-Rookie team in 2010.She owns the school record for blocks in a season (96) and is on pace to become the school’s all-time leading scorer.
